Matt Update

Well I have a few updates on my sexy husband.

He is doing good over in hell. He has been very busy with the different missions he goes on.

He will be coming home sometime in June for his 18 days of leave which we are all looking forward to. He will have to go back to Iraq until February or March time frame but we are hopeful that it could be sooner.

Unfortunately I received a phone call from Matt this morning to inform me that he had been hit by 2 IED'S. He is doing fine. He has another concussion but was able to walk away from it unhurt. There were a few injuries but everyone made it alive. (Brandi, would have called but has been a emotional day).

While I am proud f my husband and other men and women who support and protect us, yet these types of events remind me that life is precious and to take nothing for granted. There have been so many things running thru my mind in that last 12 hours that it has made me realize that I need to forgive people for the things that have been done to me. This even includes forgiving my mother. I will never have that opportunity but I will not hold onto something just because I was hurt by them. I urge everyone to forgive the people that have done u wrong. Life is too short and knowing that I may never get to see my husband again reminds me that I need to live in the now and not the future.

Oh, honey. I wish I had been able to be there for you. I know I'm not Matt and that little things like "Don't worry, he'll be fine" are totally useless ... I also know that it wouldn't really be something that can be made to come true. But please know that he is in my prayers, and those of my church. I love you, Jess, you've always been a sister to me, and I hope for your family to come together again with all my heart.

PS ... next time, call, butt chunk. LOL ...

Oh that's awesome! Every dad should be home on Father's Day ... and it's so sad that there are so many who have to miss things like that to be where they are. BUt for your family, I'm happy to have him home!! Tell him I say, "Welcome home, even if it's just for a few days. And we look forward to having him back again."

But that we wish he'd get hold of some damn sense and stop with the contractor crap. LOL ...
