frustrated beyond belief

So this week I have been trying to get my diet back on track yet I know it has not been a good week. I weighed in today just to see where I was at and I am down to 147. I should be happy that I have gone from 151 to 147 because it means that I have lost 2 pounds a week yet, I have a feeling tomorrow will be a rough weigh in because while my eating has been ok I did let myself eat graham crackers with icing. Please pray that this week I am able to get my diet back on track and stay on track.

8 Mile Walk

Well I did my 8 mile walk this morning and let me tell you it was hard but defintely worth it. I started at 6 and was finished by 8:15. I almost did not do it last night becasue I am still not feeling good but by husband dared me last night and I never turn down a dare. I am glad I did it before it got hot because I would have died.

Now I am going to relax and le my feet relax.

Weigh IN- Few Days Late

Well we finally made it back to LA, thankfully we did find a place to live in Texas now if we can find jobs it would be better.
When We left here last friday I was down to 145.5 yet after going to Texas and enjoying some good cooking I did gain some back but not as much as I thought it would be. I weighed it at 147.5 this morning!! If I can stay on Track I will be able to get below 146 by Monday morning!!

On a side note I am still planning on doing my 8 mile walk on Saturday. I did walk 2.15 miles last night and tonight and tomorrow night I plan on doing my 3.75 miles so that my legs are use to the hills since I have been unable to work out due to the trip

Hopefully Monday will be a good weigh in day!!!

Quick Update

Right now I am sitting in Dallas at family's house as we are attempting to find a place to live. When we left La on friday my weigth was at 146. Yet as of today it is back up to 150. I am not happy about this development but hopefully when we get back on Wednesday I can get by eating back in check and still get down to 146 pounds before the 1st. As of right now I am still plannign on doing my 8 miles and the only thing that will chnage that is if it rains on Saturday. I will have a update on thursday about my weight

Past to Present

So I always have a lot of people in blog world ask me how much weight I lost, how I did it and why I did. I also have alot of people ask if I have had gastric. I am going to address some of these questions. This will be the first post where I have a picture of me before and after weight lost.
The picture below was taken March 20,2007 when I was at my heaviest of 230.5. At the time I was in the process of losing my weight and did not realize how bad I looked( I can admit I was fat), until I found this picture late last year. That is when my weight lost hit me.

Why did you lose weight?
I wish this question was a easy one to answer but for me it is not. I started losing weight after having some medical problems. I also wanted to lose weight because in the picture my husband was fixing to deploy to Iraq and before he got back I wanted to look hot for him. I also wanted to lose weigth because I had been diagnoises with a heart problem.

How did you lose it?
No I did not have gastric and have no problem with people who do. My doctor wanted me to gain 5 more pounds to qualify for it. I refused. I in fact did use diet pills for about 2 years which I am not happy to admit but I also did change my eating haibts and starting walkign everyday.

How much did I Lose?
My husband deployed once from March 07 to July of 07 and during this time I went from 230. to 200 pounds which is what I was hoping for. Then when he got home I went from 200 to 181. In Novmeber of 2007 he deployed back to Iraq for 15 months and during this time I went from 181 to 136 yet since he returned home in December of 2008 I went from 136 to 151. Right now I am currenlty at 147. As of today I have lost 83.5 lbs

How much more do I want to Lose?
This question has been hard for me to answer. At first I wanted to get down to 140 yet now that I know I can do it I would love to get down 130 at least. If I get down to 135 and feel good there I will stop if not I will keep going until I get where I feel comfortable.

Walking, Walking, Walking!!

So on monday I did my additioanl mile, yet rather than it being a mile it was a mile and a half. So all in all I did 3.75 miles which I managed to walk in 75 minutes which is awesome.

Yet, on tuesday I woke up sick as a dog could barely stand up so I did not go walk last night. Today I woke up feeling semi better and knew that I needed to walk. Yet,I also had to get ready fro Kylie's birthday, which included wrapping all presents, making the cake (from scratch) and cleaning the house. Plus we are trying to get ready for Dallas. I still am not feeling 100% maybe 65% and I am hoping to be up to speed by Friday since we have a lot planned for Dallas.

I did manage to walk tonigth but only did the 2.25 miles. Hopefully I will be able to make it out tomorrow because we are having a small party with friends who will be leaving soon for different bases.

Good Week!!!

Well Last Wednesday started my weight loss journey at trying to get from 151 to 135. After eating right and walking everyday except Sunday, I managed to get from my starting weight of 151 to 147. This is one pound away from my goal of 5 pounds before May 31st.

This week I am shooting to lose another 2.5 pounds but I am realistic and know that this week may be a struggle for me. So starting tonight, Wednesday and Thursday I am going to add another mile to my journey.

Another struggle for me will be that this week is Kylie's birthday and I am making a cake, while I will allow myself a small piece I know that it will be hard. Also another problem this week is that we are going to Dallas on Friday and will not be back until Monday at the earliest. Not sure I will be able to get my walk in but will have to be very careful about what I eat!!

Hopefully next Tuesday when I weigh in the scale will still love me. LOL

No news is good news!!

Yet waiting for the word is starting to make me very nervous. Matt tested in April during the last weekend for the dallas pd. They told him that if we did not hear from them then that is a good thing because it means he has passed his civil service test. Yet with so many people going through background checks they are a month behind in thier Bi's.

Why is this so stressful you ask?

Matt will be leaving the army in July and while we will have a paycheck unti then and do have some money in savings it is worrysoem time becasue we still have bills, plus 2 kids who always need new clothes,and we must eat. We are hoping to hear from the Dallas Pd by June at the latest. Please say a short pray for us that Matt gets a job in Dallas and that I can find a job soon.

My Challenge

So on fort puke we have several walking trails and one that I walk alot is 2.25 miles. I used to be real good about walking everyday when DH was depolyed, yet since he got back it has been a sturggle. So now that I am done with school and waiting to move I have decided to walk this golf course everyday but sunday. Where is the challenge you ask. Well there is one trail that is four miles. On May 30 at 6 in the morning I am going to walk this trail there and back for a total of 8 miles. I am hoping to do it in no more than 6 hours. Hopefully I will be done in 5 but you never know.
Until then my plan is to keep walking the golf course and start lifting weights at least 3 times a week.

Pound for Pound Challenge and a healthy recipe!!

When Matt was deployed to Iraq it was easy to lose weight, yet now that hs has been home for serveral months I have slipped back into some of my old habits, due to this I have gone from 137 to 151 which I am so now happy with.
The biggest lose is doing a pound for pound challeneg which ends May 31st. So from May 11th to May 31st I am hoping to lose 5 pounds. It is defintely going to be a challenge but I know I can do it.
Starting Weight- 151
Goal weight-146

Strawberry Shortycakes
12 Servings

3/4 cup angle food cake mix
3/4 cup cool whip thawed
3/4 cup strawberry perserves
3/4 cup sliced fresh strawberries
Preheat oven to 375
Line a 12 cup muffin pan with baking cups. You must use these as they are very sticky
Place cake mix ina medium mixing bowl. Add 1/2 cup water and mix for 2 minutes.
Evenly distruibute cake mix among the liners. Bake for 12-15 minutes.
Allow cupcakes to cool completely, then carefull peel cupcakes from baking cups and plate them. Spread 1 tbsp of perserves over each cupcake, top with 1 tbsp cool whip, Put strawberries on top!!Enjoy

Graduation/Mother's Day Weekend

So my weekend really started on Thursday when I picked up my parents from the airport. They came to town to celebrate my graduation form college with my Social Work Degree. By Thursday night my in laws were here and my husband grandparents were up in Natichoces(1 hour away). On Friday we got up super early as we had to be at graduation by 9 am. By 10 am the gradation was starting and I was walking in to get my degree which has not always been easy to get. Then after graduation we went to Lunch at Copelands which was awful. We waited 2 hours for our food and they did not comp us anything. I will not be recommending it to any one ever. On Saturday we went to chucky Cheese for Kylie birthday which is in a few weeks. We then came back to the house and my in laws took the kids swimming. On Sunday we went to breakfast before taking my parents back to the airport.

Mother's day was spent trying to catch up on my sleep. Yet, that did not happen. I did get some great graduation gifts which does include money. Matt got me a Nintendo ds which I have been wanting for a while. Now I am going to spend the week relaxing, packing and packing!!

So in the last month I have put my resume out to at least 50 places, yet I have gotten no call backs. My husband and I think that maybe it is because we do not have an address in Dallas. So I changed my address to some family that live there. I am hoping this helps. Yet, I am hoping someone in blog land will be willing to critque my resume and offer suggestions.
