Job Hunting - Update

So On Friday I was taking my fingerprints to the state job when I recieved a call from the state job saying that I had the job and that they were going to run my background check, and call my refernces. The only thing holding it up is my MVR record. They called again today and said I can start on Monday as long as I have my record.

I am so excited that the job will start at the beginning of the month so I can have a full pay check and will have benefits by November 1st!!

Job Hunting

Oh my goodness what a few weeks it has been.

I have been religiously applying for as many jobs as possible during the last few months with little success. Well a few weeks ago I applied for a state job and saw that my application was being reviewed. Well last Monday I got an email from the hiring manager saying I would receive an email in 24 hours to take an assessment. Needless to say I was on pins and needles waiting. I was thinking the assessment would be about the job yet when I took it I was surprised to find that it was all English and math questions. I felt I did really good. Then on Thursday I got a phone call saying they would like to interview me. I set up my interview for Wednesday the 22nd at 10am. Well I did the interview and while I felt that I did a good not I am not sure I am will get it because it is a competitive based hiring process and I am not sure my answers were what they were looking for. The good thing though that I was not nervous at all. Yea for that.

I then get home and my husband says you had a phone call for another job. What are you kidding me!! I was beyond happy. I called the lady back but she was not there so I left a message. Well I did not hear back from her until 530 that night and she wanted to interview the next day. Well That interview was set for yesterday at 11:30. I get there the interview goes good. The only negative about this company is that it a temp agency but the com pay will more than likely pick me up after those 4 months.

After I leave the interview I have to hurry across town to get my fingerprints done for the 1st interview. As I am waiting to be called I check my phone and there is a message from Target saying they would like me to call back. I have yet to call back. I needed a break from the job hunting because the 2 interviews wore me.

I am hopeful that in the next 2-4 weeks I will hear something about a job.

As for hubby we are still waiting to hear from the Dallas Pd. We are hoping he can start in August but if not then We are for sure September. He just has to pass the psychological test. Which he should pass. He is not a mass murder or like to do weird things...LOL.

PLEASE KEEP US IN YOUR PRAYS.

Tilapia with Garlic Butter

Ingredients:
2 tablespoons butter ( I used 4 tsp butter and 2 tsp olive oil)
2 cloves garlic, finely minced( I used freeze dried and garlic powder)
dash pepper
dash salt
pinch dried dillweed or parsley
dash paprika
4 tilapia fillets ( I had 6 which is why I had more butter)

Preparation:

In saucepan, combine butter, garlic, pepper, salt, dillweed, and paprika. Heat over low heat until butter is melted and starts simmering. Remove from heat. Brush a little of the butter mixture in the bottom of a shallow baking dish (line baking dish with foil, if desired) then place tilapia fillets on the buttered area. Brush top of each tilapia fillet with the seasoned butter mixture. Bake at 350° for 12 to 15 minutes, until tilapia flakes easily with a fork.Serves 2

I love cooking my crock pot because it saves me time. Yet, I have not used it as much since I am out of work right now. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks I will be using it more. Can't wait to see other recipes that can be made in the crock pot.

3 unknown things about me(Blog Hop)

MckLinky is doing his 3 things unknown about me.

Thinking of 3 has not been easy but here we go.

1.I hate flying. I mean with a passion. I had to fly a few years ago with my kids and we hit turbulence. They thought it was great; I on the other hand wanted to get off the plane immediately.

2. I hate the beach. I was born and raised in Florida but Can not stand the feel of stand. It grosses me out. Yuck. Might also explain my fear of cotton balls.

3. I always hoped for a child with red hair and I got one plus as a bonus my husband is a red head.

You can find other fun unknown facts here.

Back On Track

So it has been a while since I have said anything about my weight. When I started my journey 2 years ago I wanted to get from 230.5 to 13o.

Since then I have managed to get from 230. 5 down to 136 but when Matt came home I let myself go yet, at the same time I was trying to work and eat healthy but was having a hard time with all the stress of graduation, then graduation came and went. Then it was dealing with the move and getting out of the military. At the same time my scale was going up . Well last Saturday the 4th I decided enough was enough. I did not work this hard to put all the weight back on.

When I started last sunday my weight was 157.5(Yuck). After being carefull about what I eat, drinking as much water as I can and trying to walk at least 4 times this week. It is too hot here in Texas to shoot for every night. I weighed in this morning and weighed 154.5 and so thrilled that I lost 3 pounds.

My goal for the this week in to be down at least 2 more pounds and to walk at least 5 nights this week. Hopefully the Texas heat will cooperate.

At a Inpass

Oh where oh where do I began. Last night DH and I were sitting on the couch talking about a friend of mine who just had a little girl. I said to him I can't wait until we have another. Well the reaction I got was not one I was hoping for. He said maybe. Well about a year ago DH and I discussed having another baby and at that time I told him if we were going to try later on than I would a IUD rather than get fixed. He said we can try in a few years so go ahead and get the IUD. Well I have the IUD and am waiting paitently until we can try one last time. Yet, last as we were trying to discuss it he looked at me and said " I can't say I want more" What if he would ahve told me a year ago then fine I would have gotten fixed becasue it would have been free. Yet, now as we are about to lose our helath insurance he tells me this. I am so hurt by this because he knows I want more, I am cofused too beacuse we had both agreed we wanted more and now he changes his mind

What should I do?
